Thank you to Capone's in Springhill, Fl and their wonderful crowd for hosting the latest Tiger, Bay Area Amateur Tour. The large group of fans added to the excitement of raffles for prizes and great matches by the players of BAAT. In the early part of the day players were playing cautious and making sure to make as few mistakes as possible. This allowed an early upset of Margaret "Sis" Tarver over Michell Monk. Sending Michell to the loser's bracket to fight her way back. Sis made her first appearance in the money rounds with a 5th place finish. Lisa Parsons also showed she's no pushover with a 5th place finish. Another player showing that she is becoming a force to be reckoned with is Connie Mago. This 4th place finish is her second time in the money this season. The top 3 finishers included the two we are most used to seeing at the top and a newbie to the tour that we knew would be there soon. After a rough start, Michell Monk worked her way back to face Niki Rasmussen in the semi-finals. Playing in her second BAAT event of the year, Niki played determined and proved it with a couple of amazing cut shots on 9balls to leave Michell in third. Her momentum was not enough to take down the force we call Leslee Davis Blaikie. After sitting (and waiting) in the hot seat for a couple of hours Leslee still came out firing to claim first place in the July edition ogf the Tiger, Bay Area Amateur Tour.
